There's No Time: 4 Tips To Help You Find Time To Exercise When You Have Small Kids

You put on a little extra weight during your pregnancy. Now that you have little ones underfoot, you can't find the time to exercise, which means you haven't been able to lose the weight. Don't stress. While you might not be able to find the time in your schedule to get a full workout in, there are still some simple ways to add exercise to your daily routine. Here are four easy ways to put exercise back in your life.

Rise and Shine

If it's hard for you to exercise while the kids are awake, adjust your schedule and become an early morning exerciser. Waking up 30 minutes before your kids do will give you enough time to get your daily exercise in. If you don't like waking up early, you can switch it up and exercise for 30 minutes after the kids go to bed in the evening.

Enjoy Your Built-In Walking Buddies

Kids love to get outside during the day. Even little ones will enjoy an afternoon walk. When the weather is nice, take advantage of your built-in walking buddies and get out with your kids. You can either walk around the neighborhood, or gather your kids up and head to a local park. The kids can walk with you, and when you're done, you can rest while the kids play on the playground equipment.

Squeeze Exercising in Where You Can

There's no rule that says you have to do a complete exercise routine in order to lose weight. All you have to do is move. To help you keep active and lose weight, try squeezing some exercise in whenever you can. Put a movie on for your kids and jog in place, or do leg lifts while you wash the dishes. If you're putting laundry away, instead of walking to the linen closet, jog. If you have to go up and down the stairs, try taking them two at a time for a change.

Recruit Other Parents

If you have friends who are in the same boat, work out a schedule where you trade babysitting. By recruiting other parents, you can all have the time you need to get some much-needed exercise in.

It's hard to find time to exercise when you have little ones at home. That doesn't mean you have to give up on losing weight. The tips provided above will help you find time in your schedule to get the exercise you need.
