2. Go at your own pace.
Exercise classes are full of people at all different fitness levels. Some people in your class may have been exercising for a long time, which means they will likely have more strength and stamina than you. Remember that it isn't a competition. Pushing yourself too hard can cause injury, which is counterproductive to your goal of getting fit. Sit out certain exercises if you need to. If you have health challenges, feel free to ask your teacher to help you modify certain exercises so you can do them safely.
3. Be persistent.
Fitness doesn't happen overnight. You can see great changes to your body and health when you exercise, but you will need to be consistent over time. Be patient and don't give up if you don't see the results you want right away. If you keep going to exercise classes and trying your best, you will eventually make the progress you want to see.
4. Take rest days.
Many fitness programs offer exercise classes every day of the week in order to accommodate people's busy schedules. However, exercising daily can be bad for your health. It's necessary to take rest days to give your body the chance to recover. Your muscles repair themselves during rest days.
